The first summer I had my new (big 15') boat, we all piled in and motored up the Snohomish River. I shot this pic and it ran huge in The Herald with a folksy story about life along the river. Shortly afterward, someone or some regulating agency worried about liability suits, demolished the swimming hole, presumably because of the  danger it posed to all the young Toms and Hucks of the world. I didn't find out about it for a couple of years. When I saw it, it made me sick, of course, and I felt bad that my camera had brought about such injustice when all I intended to do was bring a little joy to people with a picture I very much liked.
